The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 The Romans have been defeated 2 In a near land, and they, after being vanquished, shall overcome, 3 In some few years. Allah's is the command, before and after. And on that day the believers will rejoice. 4 In Allah succour. He succoureth whomsoever He will, and He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 5 (It is) the promise of Allah. Never does Allah depart from His promise: but most men understand not. 6 they only know the outward appearance of the life of this world, and they are neglectful of the Hereafter. 7 Have they never thought to themselves that Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between except with truth, and for a stated term? Yet most people disbelieve that they will ever meet their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled in the earth and seen how was the end of those before them? They were stronger than these in prowess, and dug up the earth, and built on it in greater abundance than these have built on it, and there came to them their apostles with clear arguments; so it was not beseeming for Allah that He should deal with them unjustly, but they dealt unjustly with their own souls. 9 And once again: evil is bound to be the end of those who do evil by giving the lie to God's messages and deriding them. 10
