Al-Qamar 2 of 3
(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And declare thou unto them that water hath been divided between them; every drinking shall be by turns. 28 But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). 29 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. 35 And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. 36 And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 37 In the morning early there came upon them a settled chastisement: 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
