The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
