The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 This Book whereof there is no doubt, is a guidance unto the God-fearing. 2 the pious who believe in the unseen, attend to prayer, give in charity part of what We have granted them; 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
