۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 And they say: are our gods better, or is he? They mention him not to thee save for disputation. Aye! they are a people contentious. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 He is a sign of the Hour. Have no doubt about it. But follow me. This is a straight path; 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Allah is my Lord and your Lord; therefore, serve Him. That is the Straight Way.” 64 Then the factions fell apart among themselves. So woe to the wrong-doers from the chastisement of a grievous Day. 65 Are they waiting (for any thing) but the Hour (of Doom) which would descend upon them suddenly, and catch them unawares? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
