Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
