The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
