Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood [i.e. the people of Madyan (Midian) to whom Prophet Shu'aib was sent by Allah), were also Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.). 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
