So will he whose bosom Allah has opened up for Islam – he is therefore upon a light from his Lord – ever be equal to one who is stone hearted? Therefore ruin is for those whose hearts are hardened towards the remembrance of Allah; they are in open error. 22 Allah has revealed (from time to time) the most beautiful Message in the form of a Book, consistent with itself, (yet) repeating (its teaching in various aspects): the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble thereat; then their skins and their hearts do soften to the celebration of Allah's praises. Such is the guidance of Allah: He guides therewith whom He pleases, but such as Allah leaves to stray, can have none to guide. 23 Is he whose face is cautious of the evil of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection (to be compared to the unbeliever)! To the evildoers it shall be said: 'Now taste that which you have been earning' 24 Their predecessors gave the lie to the Truth and then chastisement came upon them from whence they could not imagine. 25 So Allah made them to taste the disgrace in the present life, but greater is the torment of the Hereafter if they only knew! 26 And certainly We have set forth to men in this Quran similitudes of every sort that they may mind. 27 [It is] an Arabic Qur'an, without any deviance that they might become righteous. 28 Allah presents an example: a slave owned by quarreling partners and another belonging exclusively to one man - are they equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah! But most of them do not know. 29 Truly thou wilt die (one day), and truly they (too) will die (one day). 30 Then eventually all of you will contend before your Lord on the Day of Resurrection. 31
