The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
