The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
