Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and the burden-bearers 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
