The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is split asunder! 1 And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous 2 And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. 3 And assuredly there hath come unto them tidings wherein is a deterrent. 4 but the warnings have proved to have no effect on them. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 running (with their necks extended) to the Caller. The unbelievers will say: 'This is indeed a harsh Day' 8 ۞ Before these, the people of Nooh denied and they belied Our bondman and said, “He is a madman” and rebuffed him. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring 11 and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and all this water converged to fulfil that which had been decreed. 12 but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, 13 Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 16 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 17 And there belied the A'ad; so how dreadful have been My torment and warning! 18 Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. 19 Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm-trees torn up (from the ground). 20 for, how severe is the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded! 21 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 22
