The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
