Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And accepts the best, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
