Say thou; my Lord! if Thou wilt shew me that wherewith they are threatened. 93 My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people." 94 We have the Power to strike them with torment before your very eyes. 95 Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe. 96 And say: O my Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Shaitans; 97 I seek refuge with You, Lord, lest they should come near me." 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 “Perhaps I may do some good deeds in what I have left behind”; this is just a word that he utters from his mouth; and confronting them is a barrier until the day in which they will be raised. 100 Then, when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask of one another. 101 Therefore the ones whose scales prove heavy – they are the successful. 102 And those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are those who lose their ownselves, in Hell will they abide. 103 The fire lashes their faces and therein are shriveled lips. 104 "Are you not those to whom My revelations were recited, and you dubbed them as lies?" 105 'Lord' they will reply, 'adversity prevailed over us and we were erring. 106 Lord, take us out of this and if we sin again, we shall certainly be unjust". 107 He saith: Begone therein, and speak not unto Me. 108 There was a section among My creatures that said: 'O Lord, we believe. Forgive us and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you ridiculed them. So much so that out of (spite) for them you forgot to remember Me and laughed at them. 110 I have rewarded them this day for they were constant, and they have come to attainment." 111 He will ask, "How many years did you stay on earth?" 112 They will reply. "We remained for about a day or part of it, but ask those who have kept count". 113 He will say: "You stayed there only a moment, if you knew. 114 "Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?" 115 Now Allah be Exalted, the True King! There is no Allah save Him, the Lord of the Throne of Grace. 116 And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other ilah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kafirun (the disbelievers in Allah and in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful. 117 And say: 'My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of the merciful' 118
