Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
