Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
