The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
