The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 And the Book written 2 On an open record. 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 Those who sport entering into vain discourses. 12 on the Day when they shall be thrust into the fire with [an irresistible] thrust, [and will be told:] 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 “Enter it – now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient – it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 They would recline on couches set in rows, paired with fair companions (clean of thought and) bright of eye. 20 To those who have attained to faith We shall unite their offspring who have also followed them in faith, and We shall not let any of their good deeds go unrewarded; every human being is a pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 'When we were among our people' they will say, 'we were ever fearful, 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
