The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
