The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
