Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 even till you visit the tombs. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 Again, no indeed, you shall soon know. 4 And yet if you knew with positive knowledge 5 that you shall surely see Hell? 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
