Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 Thamud, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
