The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 on a Great Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Yes indeed - they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 It will then be said, "This is what you used to deny." 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
