Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but it is He Who deceives them. And when they stand up for As-Salat (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allah but little. 142 They are hesitant people belonging to neither side. You can find no other way for one whom God has caused to go astray. 143 Believers, do not take the unbelievers for guides instead of the believers, or do you desire to give Allah a clear authority over you? 144 Undoubtedly the hypocrites are in the deepest segment of hell; and you will never find any supporter for them. 145 Except for those who repent, correct themselves, hold fast to Allah, and are sincere in their religion for Allah, for those will be with the believers. And Allah is going to give the believers a great reward. 146 What will Allah do with your torment, if ye return thanks and believe? And Allah is ever Appreciative, Knowing. 147 ۞ Allah does not like the public mention of evil except by one who has been wronged. And ever is Allah Hearing and Knowing. 148 Whether you do some good openly or in secret, or forgive an ill done to you, (know) that God is forgiving and all-powerful. 149 Surely those who disbelieve in Allah and His apostles and (those who) desire to make a distinction between Allah and His apostles and say: We believe in some and disbelieve in others, and desire to take a course between (this and) that. 150 These: they are the infidels in very truth, and We have gotten ready for the infidels a torment ignominious. 151 But they who believe in Allah and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them - to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. 152
