۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Are we then not to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
