Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 A revelation from Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
