and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 These men do say, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
