Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
