Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
