The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
