۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
