'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 Make my task easy 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 and let him share my task 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 and may remember You much. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 You eat and let your cattle graze' Surely, in this there are signs for those of understanding. 54
