A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs. 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 When they are told, "guard yourselves against what is before you and what is behind you, in order that you may be shown mercy," [they turn away]. 45 and no message of their Sustainer's messages ever reaches them without their turning away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They wait not for aught but a single cry which will overtake them while they yet contend with one another. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
