Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
