3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
