Say: 'I am only a warner. There is not any god but God, the One, the Omnipotent, 65 “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – the Almighty, the Oft Forgiving.” 66 Say, "It (facts about the supremacy of God) is the greatest message, 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted chiefs when they contended: 69 "Only this has been inspired to me, that I am a plain warner." 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 After I have created him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down, prostrating yourselves to him.” 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 but not Satan, who was too proud. He became one of those who deny the truth. 74 Allah said: O Iblis! what preventeth thee from prostrating thyself before that which I have created with both my hands? Becomest thou stiff-necked, or art thou of the exalted ones? 75 He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust. 76 'Begone' said He, 'you are stoned'. 77 My curse will remain upon you till the Day of Judgement!" 78 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 79 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 80 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 81 Said he, 'Now, by Thy glory, I shall pervert them all together, 82 "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 [That] I will surely fill Hell with you and those of them that follow you all together." 85 Say: 'I ask of you no wage for it, neither am I of those who take things upon themselves. 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 and you will most certainly grasp its purport after a lapse of time!" 88
