The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
