Proclaim, “Who guards you night and day from the Most Gracious?” In fact they have turned away from the remembrance of their Lord. 42 Or do they have gods to defend them other than Us? They are unable [even] to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us. 43 Nay, We gave the luxuries of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them. See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will overcome. 44 Say: I warn you only by revelation; and the deaf do not hear the call whenever they are warned. 45 And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them, they would surely say, "O woe to us! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers." 46 But We shall set up just balance-scales on Resurrection Day, and no human being shall be wronged in the least: for though there be [in him but] the weight of a mustard-seed [of good or evil,] We shall bring it forth; and none can take count as We do! 47 We gave Moses and Aaron the Salvation and a Radiance, and a Remembrance for the godfearing 48 Those who fear their Lord in secret and who dread the Hour (of doom). 49 And this is a blessed Reminder which We have revealed; will you then deny it? 50
