And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
