S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 Nay, those who desbelieve are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape! 3 They wondered that a warner had come to them from among themselves, and the deniers of the Truth said: “This is a sorcerer, and a big liar. 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 Has the message been revealed to him out of [all of] us?" Rather, they are in doubt about My message. Rather, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or have they the treasuries of thy Lord's mercy, the All-mighty, the All-giving? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 Before them the nations of Noah, Aad and Pharaoh, and he of the tentpegs belied, 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
