The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 nor does he speak out of desire. 3 It is naught but revelation that is revealed, 4 Which one of mighty powers hath taught him, 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 When he was on the uppermost horizon. 7 Then he drew near and drew closer 8 two bows' length away, or nearer, 9 Then he revealed to Allah's servant whatever he had to reveal. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 And indeed he did see the Spectacle again. 13 by the lote-tree at the farthest boundary, 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 (This was) when the lote-tree was covered with that which covered it. 16 (Muhammad's) eyes did not deceive him, nor did they lead him to falsehood. 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, 19 and the third one, Manat? -- 20 What! For you the son, and for Him the daughter? 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers – Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 Does man imagine that it is his due to have all that he might wish for, 24 To Allah belongs the Eternal life and the first life. 25
