The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
