The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
