The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
