۞ And those who do not hope for Our meeting, say: Why have not angels been sent down upon us, or (why) do we not see our Lord? Now certainly they are too proud of themselves and have revolted in great revolt. 21 On the day when they shall see the angels, there shall be no joy on that day for the guilty, and they shall say: It is a forbidden thing totally prohibited. 22 We shall call their deeds into Our presence and scatter them into the air as dust (turn them devoid of all virtue). 23 The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 And the day when the sky will be split asunder with clouds and the angels will be sent down in full. 25 The true kingship on that day belongs to the Most Gracious; and that is hard for the disbelievers. 26 Upon the day the evildoer shall bite his hands, saying, 'Would that I had taken a way along with the Messenger! 27 "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! 28 He indeed led me astray from the Remembrance, after it had come to me; Satan is ever a forsaker of men.' 29 The Messenger says, 'O my Lord, behold, my people have taken this Koran as a thing to be shunned.' 30 thus did We assign to every prophet an enemy from among the sinners; your Lord is sufficient as a guide and a helper. 31 And the disbelievers say, “Why was the Qur’an not sent down to him all at once?” This is how We sent it in stages, in order to strengthen your heart with it and We read it slowly, in stages. 32 And no question do they bring to thee but We reveal to thee the truth and the best explanation (thereof). 33 Those who shall be mustered to Gehenna upon their faces -- they shall be worse in place, and gone further astray from the way. 34
