No, by the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 about the guilty ones: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
