Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the sun and his brightness, 1 by the moon when it follows the sun, 2 And the day when it revealeth him, 3 And the night when it enshroudeth him, 4 By the heaven and Who built it, 5 By the Earth and its (wide) expanse: 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 So Allah's apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink. 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 and He fears not the issue thereof. 15
