THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And helped them, so they were victorious. 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 And guided them to the Right Path; 118 and We left them thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 119 Salamun (peace) be upon Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)!" 120 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 He asked his people: 'Do you not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you worship Ba`al and abandon the Best Creator. 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?' 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 except for God's sincere servants; 128 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers. 133 Wherefore We saved him and his entire family 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 and then We utterly destroyed the others: 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
